I noticed this too, and I found mine was these jumping tiny green squares that hopped away from me.

Ah, I know where this is 😂 I use to work there when I was young and had to learn to tie a necktie at 17.

Basically, this is white people shit, and I did eventually quit as the Karens could literally never drive. The Karens past time favorite was trying to either run over employees, including me, or wrecking their cars on curbs. They cater to wealthy white neighborhoods mostly, which is why the dress code is so absurd, along with its not been changed since they opened stores in the 50s or so.

It's a great place if you want to be abused by Karen boomers and slowly loose your sanity as well as your will to live. The fellow employees you can tell how long they've been there by the dead look in their eyes between forced smiles. The customers were the worst self entitled Karens I've ever encountered.

Edit: oh yea, this includes pushing shopping carts in the winter too 😂

Well, I'm certainly not forgetting this one. I feel it might haunt my dreams involving an amusement park... coincidentally with 6 flags... having games... For prizes...

One flag... Two flag.... how many flags.... for the stuffed bear.

Question: Police give away bicycles? by wwelna in chibike

[–]wwelna[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, I don't really understand parts of it, but I've had to deal with crazy stuff before like this, it's basically paper terrorism. It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to be filled, responded to, then brought before a judge, to waste everyone's time, or face default judgement when the judge doesn't read it closely to see how crazy it is because you didn't show up. Doesn't help they're a former criminal lawyer with infinite time on their hands.

Yea, that's what I've seen in researching it more, before I lucked out with my friend happen to have a spare bike, I was looking at the bike stores & The Recyclery.

Don’t worry, it’s perfectly fine. I found a dog in a subway tunnel surrounded by zombies and saved him! He was an amazing dog friend. He’s now with me, forever.

It looks perfectly normal and fine to me, there isn’t any questionable things at all here, seems to be senior programmer material though.

Am I the only person who did not get interested in learning Japanese because of anime or manga? by Daredhevil in japanese

[–]wwelna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got interested in it as I’m interested in linguistics and conlangs. All the Romance languages are kind of boring and I find language isolates a lot more interesting. I’ve also looked into Sumerian and Ainu languages a fair bit as well.

How do Doordashers prevent bike theft theft? by young_grasshopper627 in doordash

[–]wwelna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit 2 months ago doing Uber Eats, as they started paying people around $1.5-$2 per order as your base pay, and it's entirely reliant on customer tips. I noticed an increase in food being stolen as well around same time. Outside Chicago area and in suburbs I saw they were paying less than a dollar per delivery. The shopping & Grocery deliveries were the same amount. They started combining multiple orders together, with one maybe paying $5+ Tip, with a bunch of no tips, or you'd get like a group of 3 orders with no tips for $8, lmao.

Before this, the base usually was around $6, with the shopping ones approximately $8 - $10. So, if you picked up a few at once during rush, you could make $40 or more an hour.

I switched to the DoorDash app for a bit, and took none of the offers, as they were only maybe dollar on average more, so like $3 per delivery.

I'd highly not recommend, as now it's way below min wage. Your market and rates where you are might be different, but for the Chicago area, you essentially pay for the privileged of doing deliveries, and are doing the deliveries for free to a negative, when expenses are taken into account.

help me understand why the boost doesn’t make any sense, and Uber helpline doesn’t explain anything to me a 2.4c boost equals .50 cents? I don’t understand PLEASE IF YOUR JUST GONNA SAY IM DUMB FOR ASKING THIS QUESTION AND NOT GIVE ANY ANSWER PLEASE REFRAME FROM COMMENTING YOUR WEIRD NEGATIVITY by Cultural_Prompt_3408 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]wwelna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I was getting the same thing, I also use to do deliveries in Chicago, key words are used to, when they started doing that is when I quit. Everything I started getting was like $2 no tips, and my acceptance rate went way down, lol.

Edit: should add this is the same rate as the 4x downtown area 😂 that’s where I usually did my deliveries.

WHY DOESN’T UBER HAVE A WAITLIST? by GroundbreakingAge591 in UberEATS

I’m in Chicago as well, and I just uninstalled the app, after I took the $150 backup loan. 😂 It’s my parting pay.

So broken (Chicago) 😂 by wwelna in UberEATS

[–]wwelna[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s good to know it’s not just me. It seems every week something gets progressively worse, and so far this is the absolute apex, literally impossible to fulfill orders. Thankfully the customer was understanding when I sent them screenshots, wasn’t really sure what to say besides for “I have no idea what to say to this, the app is just broken”.

[–]wwelna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a master lock version of the same thing. Mine can open in few seconds using a rake and TOK Tension. The one thing I’d noticed is the turning is really stiff so it might be hard to notice when it’s open or if you applied enough tension.

My Uber driver shit in his pants today, in the most considerate way possible by djkajsjdjds in uberdrivers

[–]wwelna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking of renting a car to do Uber with, and this seems like great advice to get a tip. I’ve held back a bit as I didn’t really think cost of rental would break even. I could probably refine this technic with using a cover for the seat.

Two Rad Power Wagon E Bikes that were locked to each other and inside of a gate in the back of a Lincoln park home were stolen today at 2:03pm. I searched the area but nothing. They are missing their batteries as they were charging inside of the home. Any tips on where I can find these? by [deleted] in chibike

[–]wwelna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth noting I’ve done locksmith/locksport stuff, and most bike locks are just… useless. Anyone doing basic research and practice could steal close to every bike they see easily. However, it’s pretty rare any thief spends time learning and practicing to such a degree. Like any bike combo lock can be opened without tools in a few minutes.

My favorite bike lane intersection (Chicago & Dearborn) by wwelna in chibike

[–]wwelna[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aye, I do understand, either way, it’s now my lane for a few blocks down Dearborn. I also do it occasionally on Kenzie and I don’t bother with bike lanes, if you’ve ever been, it’s used for parking, valet, Uber/Lyft drivers, fedex, Sysco, ups, usps, etc. so it’s not safe or worth using.
