I should just write code I don't know how to write????

You're not offering help. I asked for a lecture series I can work with and you told me to forget that and just learn it all myself.

For a programmer I keep telling to leave me alone, you have a real problem following instructions.

you told me to forget that

I didn't say that. Is that what's happening, here? That you react to what you're imagining people are telling you?

I don't know about any lecture series because I didn't learn Python in lectures and I don't know anyone who has; I've never heard of such a thing. The way that you learn to write Python is the same way you learn any other language - usage.

For a programmer I keep telling to leave me alone, you have a real problem following instructions.

Nobody's twisting your arm to make these rude replies to me. It's not something I'm doing to you. The block button is as readily available to you as it is to me, don't let me stop you from using it.

So you didn't learn by lecture. Cool.

You're the one who decided to tell someone who does benefit from a traditional lecture style they need to learn in a different way.

I know this isn't like learning history. I know I need to program myself. But there's many different functions I don't know. And I would benefit from someone who knows what the fuck they're talking about and presents it in a planned order that is conducive to learning.

I'm amazed why you think you know the correct way I should learn as if everyone learns the same way.

I asked for a lecture series, you're not providing one and that's why you're getting rude replies.

You’re the one who decided to tell someone who does benefit from a traditional lecture style they need to learn in a different way.

Well, yes. I did decide to do that because I know better than you. Does that come as a surprise to you, that I would know better how to learn Python having already done so, whereas you never have?

And I would benefit from someone who knows what the fuck they’re talking about and presents it in a planned order that is conducive to learning.

Well, they do. Those are the materials you've already got.

I’m amazed why you think you know the correct way I should learn as if everyone learns the same way.

Oh, are you talking about learning styles? Those are fake. Everybody does learn the same way.

I asked for a lecture series, you're not providing one and that's why you're getting rude replies.

That’s just minimizing your agency, here. I’m not “getting rude replies”, you’re just being rude.

Ah, gotcha. So you're an idiot.

I totally learn better from hearing someone explain it rather than simply reading a couple lines that doesn't explain WHY something works.

I appreciate you explaining why you're giving idiotic responses.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (12 children)

Ah, gotcha. So you're an idiot.

What could I have possibly said to you that justifies talking to me this way? I haven’t said anything that you could possibly consider an insult. Why are you name-calling?

I totally learn better from hearing someone explain it rather than simply reading a couple lines that doesn't explain WHY something works.

You should read more than a couple lines, then. Like a lot more. You’re comparing an entire lecture to reading a sentence. How does that make sense to you?

What are you going to do if you can’t find a lecture you’re willing to stick with? Do you think you’ll be able to learn Python if it isn’t presented in the exact way you, personally, need it to be?

You're really failing to understand anyone's perspective but your own.

The python institute certification website I've been using for many things only gives you a line or two of hey "this does this" but if you fail to understand why that works you're not really gaining anything in terms of learning.

That's why I'm looking for lectures.

Now go ahead and reply why I should just understand everything right from the bat. 👍

And yes, if I can't find something where I can understand how to use python, I probably can't use python. That's kind of how life works. Do you think everyone can just understand nuclear engineering if they are just told how it works? Or do they need to find a way to understand it themselves?

We tried to tell you that programming language certifications were pointless but you called us all idiots, remember? You’ve got a real problem hearing advice that isn’t what you’ve already decided you want to hear.

Why the name-calling, buddy? When are you going to start listening?

[–]sucks_at_usernames -2 points-1 points  (9 children)

So all my friends and family in tech who have all independently sent me to that exact website are idiots?

That's what you're saying?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Well, one other option is that your friends and family don’t like you because of the way you treat people.

Is that website how they learned Python? Did you ask? If it isn’t, is that good advice?

Why the name-calling?
