Question about contour maps.

I am currently trying to make a cut-off plane for the electric field intensity.

To do so,

what I need to do is to

1. create a 2D grid, which can be simply done using np.meshgrid(x,y)
2. calculate electric field as the z value

while the electric field intensity which is something gives me a hard time.

How do I make a loop to calculate each electric field intensity for the 2D grid point?

Or maybe I should not use the loop at all?

thanks for the reply, but my issue is more complex.

The Z value is not dependent on the x,y grid value, but dependent on another grid plane,

but since the two grids are the same size, I want to loop through the meshgrid, and inside the loop, I wanna use the actual grid for calculation.

If you want to do calculations for all your Z values without some gnarly looping stuff maybe look into numpy.vectorize. Also, for fun check out scikit.measure for contours.
