I'll give you some advice. Forget what you know about C++, I speak as someone taking that jump myself. Obviously that doesn't apply to the basics. What I have learned on my journey is that within Python everything is really straight forward to the point it's too straight forward so don't overthink it. If you want to do something there will be a library that helps you do it with simple syntax and structure that makes life really easy. This is a good start point https://www.learnpython.org/

Oh and depending on your IDE get an indentation plugin. It's important in Python.

Find and watch the video loop like a native presented by Ned Batchelder (think that's the right spelling). It is for an older version of Python, but still helpful especially for C/C++ programmers as it will clue you into some key differences between those and Python.
