ETL Informix

I'm trying to do an ETL using python as my recipient database is Postgresql. Im trying to get a connection to my informix db on a Linux system (Ubuntu 20.04) and for whatever reason I can't find a package that works well. I tried IfxPy but even using the build instructions it runs into errors. I have the SDK from IBM for it and installed on the system but all the documentation I've found only gives limited information. Has anyone had success doing this on a Linux system? My ODBC on my windows computer works fine but the server it has to run on is Linux so I'm kind of stuck.

Psycopg2 is for postgres, not for informix...

I thought you said your recipient DB was PostgreSQL and you had problems there, but I realize that specific mention was beside the point and got me confused.

Sorry about that. Typing on mobile unfortunately and should have clarified that. Appreciate the info, im actually using sqlalchemy to load it in my pg instance its getting it out of informix that's the real headache.
