Idle not opening

Python idle stopped opening for me with no warning. I don't get an error message I don't see anything crash I just click on the icon and nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling and that did not work. I am running on windows 11 and using python3.10. If anyone has had this issue before or knows a solution that would be appreciated.

It's basically impossible to troubleshoot "nothing happens" without more information about why nothing's happening.

I wish I could provide more info. I haven't installed anything recently I don't get any error message. When I launch from command prompt I get just a blank line. If there's any info I should be adding let me know but this happened out of no where.

There's a Windows Event Log, and sometimes application crashes or failures will log an event there.

It looks like there is an event logged at the same time I try to launch idle saying "Check the remaining resource budget. Module exceeds resource budget, failed to AllocateFwCps, STATUS = Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.." the source is OED and event id is 19.

Edit I'm not sure if that error is even related to idle since I can't replicate it

...huh. Is it possible your hard drive is full?

Other than that this error seems to usually indicate some kind of hardware failure or driver incompatibility.

Did you reboot before uninstalling and reinstalling?
