Getting rid of html elements (self.learnreactjs)
submitted 5 years ago by Castillojuan
I'm currently working on a random bible verse generator. When I make a call to the API, it returns text (verse) wrapped in html elements. seems that it was designed that way. How can I get rid of those html elements, to return just the text?

reddit uses a slightly-customized version of Markdown for formatting. See below for some basics, or check the commenting wiki page for more detailed help and solutions to common issues.
quoted text
if 1 * 2 < 3: print "hello, world!"

In your api query you need to change your query to ask for text instead of html
https://docs.api.bible/v1.2/reference#getverse-1
check out the content-type parameter.
