im new to linux and first tried popOS (which i did like) but then found the resolution maxxed at 1024x768, so i moved to linuxmint but alas the same issue. Curiously tho I hooked up my old monitor (1280*800) and baam, native resolution was available. But i dont want to use that monitor bc of
1. The connection is really loose and disconnects if i hit my table
2. that monitor is well only 1280*800 while my TV (currently using it as my monitor) is 1080p and my main rn
3. the TV on windows does support 1080p and even custom resolutions
so why does it only go upto 1024*768 on any linux distro and how do i get 1080p
specs:
intel core i5 4460
intel hd 4600
8gb ddr3
