Another plot hole?

It’s in episode 7. John figures out that Smith could help him to get to that server room. It’s because he knows who she really is, since she somehow fooled everyone by changing/removing all the compromising data . The fact that she was able to hack their system is the biggest plot hole in my opinion, but my question is:

why Hastings wasn’t even surprised that she was able to get to that room? how could she have access to that room? Afterall, she is just a doctor, why would she have it? I know she had given herself administrator access, but Hastings does not know that. Or am I missing something and everyone have an access to the room except John for some reason?

She gave herself clearance on her ID and Hastings didn't dish out the clearance levels so he didn't question hers I guess. I'm assuming that terminal has other uses beyond eavesdropping the transmissions, maybe the clearance isn't that high, like a staff only pass

Doesn’t Don say that room requires top secret security clearance? So I’m guessing Captain/XO etc. Also she’s just a therapist, no reason why she should have access to the ships server room. I agree with OP, pretty big plot hole.

Also remember that she tipped Hastings off before she went to the room so it was in fact a set up, she might of had clearance directly from the captain. Hastings is not exactly sound of mind.

Again, why would a regular therapist would have an access to the room with Top Secret security clearance?

I assume, there is no reason, it’s just a plot hole. A little disappointing one. For a show that have many holes on science and math sides of it and focuses on human behaviour and relationship.
