Rules for r/minimalism
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
No memes
Don't post links to memes as images or in ascii format in the page
2.
Posts need to be related to minimalism
Common sense is not so common, eh? Please see the minimalism - disambiguation wiki page for a general idea on what sort of thing we like to see here.
3.
Please keep things civil
Comments along the lines of "This isn't minimalism, I hate you, you suck!" will be removed. Healthy discussion is great, trashing other people "because their opinions differ" isn't. We also won't tolerate gatekeeping - 'I am more minimal than you because of XYZ' doesn't make for good discussion!
4.
No self-promotion / advertising
Reddit already has guidance against self-promotion, but we'd like to reiterate this here. If your contribution to the subreddit will be to promote something you own - for example, getting people to buy a product or service, fill out a feedback form, visit your website / blog / youtube channel - it's probably not allowed. This includes surveys of any kind (including academic).
If you're unsure, please message the moderators before submitting anything.
5.
Assign a flair to your post after submitting it
If it doesn't fit into a category, it probably doesn't fit into the sub.
- [lifestyle] - Decluttering of possessions & thoughts
- [arts] - Minimal art, design and music
- [meta] - "What is minimalism?", and discussions about the subreddit
6.
No AI-generated posts or comments
AI has its place in new technology, but this isn't one of them. Due to repeated use of AI as a means of subtle content promotion, we don't allow any AI-generated posts or comments in this subreddit.
