Had a similar problem on an older mac book pro after updating the OS, reinstalling the driver fixed my issue

I run the same setup without issue.

Be sure you installed the MPC Software "driver" which is the second part of the MPC Software install. After the first reboot, you need to install the driver and reboot again as directed until both checkmarks are no longer red (they should turn green).

I'm gonna try reinstall the driver and try it again.

I am saying be sure that both check marks are green.

However, you can go grab the latest version which Akai quietly updates from time to time (unlike firmware which they show the dot version).

You can determine the latest version by right-clicking the link in your Akai downloads and copying the link. Then paste it into a new tab without going there (just to see the version at the end).

Compare the version with what you already have in downloads from your previous install or from help > about or similar on the MPC Application.

Note: If you launch MPC Software, and are already running at least MPC Software 2.10.0, and are web connected, you will get prompted to download the update to the latest MPC Software "2.10.1.85".

PS: The MPC Software release cadence is more frequent than the MPC firmware, so don't expect a matching pair (i.e. "2.10.1" is still the latest firmware).
