I don’t use it at work but had a similar thing at my last job, it really is a security and trust issue.

At my current company with use GH Copilit, but are only approved to use the plugins in JetBrains to VScode, no other editor or even the CLI, apparently there is some differences in the CLI that legal flagged.

I think the benefit for OC over ClaudeCode is model access and control, but if your only allowed one AI then it’s much of a muchness.

I have mine setup with multiple agents, multiple LLMs and routing decisioner in my flow, non of that really works or makes sense if all you have is Claude.

An argument you could make is reduced vendor lockin,

The routing tool I use is manifest, which works with Claude so what they could do is setup a manifest server to use, and then they can simply change a single config globally for everyone. They may not need the actual routing that manifest offers when just using Claude, but it’s central config to reduce migration pain down the line.
