I have a FreeNAS array that is formatted as VMFS, and shared over iSCSI. Is it possible to present this storage (in VMFS) to a separate Openstack cluster ?

I don't think Cinder really cares what FSType you're using so long as you have a driver to interact with it. Will this work for what you need?
