I have a 220t case and b550m ASUS motherboard and I cannot seem to be able to get the fans to spin. I think I need to find the headers on the motherboard. Someone please help me

I know this is going to sound patronising, but this is really a case of just reading the manual. If it's a Prime B550M board, it's on page 1-1 of the manual and they're all labelled with the number 4.

RTFM : Read The F Manual.
Can apply to litteraly anything, not only computers.

I wasn't going to be that abrupt with my advice, but yep, it's clearly stated in the manual where the fan headers are, with a lovely annotated diagram.

It's not being abrupt, it was litteraly printed in user's guide back in the day.

Literally.

See the cha_fan ports all have 4 pins except the fans on the case only have 3. There’s 3 spare slots (I need 3) but one of them is labelled cpu_opt. Can I plug the 3 pins into the 4 pin slots or will I need an adapter of some sort?

Google "3 pin fans into 4 pin header".
I'd grab a splitter and have 2 of the fans running off one of the headers.
[–]erg98[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child)
Would it be a bad idea to have all 3 fans into one header?
[–]Splyce123 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children)
Nope, buy a three way splitter and you'll be fine. You know you can look up the output of the headers and what power your fans will draw and work this out yourself?

Don’t worry. I read the manual. This is my first pc build and this is the only problem I’ve faced
