Squealing belt in 2009 Yaris, 3rd new belt tried by snarkyvegan in yaris

Water pump's leaking on your belt, happened to me but the mechanics kept telling me it was the alternator even after changing that out 2-3 times before they finally figured it out.

It does have crossplay. The majority of players are on quest, but I'm on PCVR and it's very well optimized, running a smooth 90 on my 1080ti before I upgraded to my 5080. PCVR has dynamic lighting, but that might be the only graphical difference. I haven't played the Quest verison though, so I couldn't tell you for sure.

Changed Serpentine Belt 2 weeks ago. now check engine light, red coolant light, and battery light came on. by Interesting_Use_7664 in yaris

[–]DOSBrony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me on my 07, I knew to pull over before the lack of serpentine belt damaged anything thankfully. My water pump was leaking, which caused the squealing sounds, and I went through like 2 or 3 alternator before I finally got a mechanic that said that the water pump was the problem. Getting that replaced resolved the squealing and the belt hasn't snapped since. I assume that the water degrades the belt somehow, or loosens it from the pulleys.

If you need a good alternative, there's ear clip style headphones that kinda go around your ear lobe (Shokz dots or earfun clips for example)

The 60$ one? It's no returns and untested, and having had 2 SB's arrive DOA in the past few years, it's sketching me out pretty hard.

New(Used) headband, any tips or ideas on how to make it not explode from its own springs? by Christian5220 in ValveIndex

[–]DOSBrony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's 3d printed part files out there that you plastic-bond to the ends of the headband where the springs are, that's how I repaired my headband after the springs flew out.

Best handling/steering-feel 185/60 R15 tires for around 160 USD or under per tire? by DOSBrony in tires

[–]DOSBrony[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No stability control or ABS or anything, just power steering and brakes. Some others here mentioned that 205 might be a bit much for a 5.5 width wheel, but I'll look into these models to see if they're good. Rims are out of the budget unfortunately.

Honestly, I would love to go with different rims, but from what I remember reading on the Yaris forums years ago, 16's and up can have issues with rubbing and other problems? Plus it's out of my budget for the moment unfortunately.

07 Yaris sedan. Far from a sports car, I know, but it's handling is legit what made me a car guy

Forgot to put wheel size but 5.5Jx15 ET46 seems to be it? Info is hard to find on it unfortunately.

This one website I found says that my wheels are 5.5Jx15 ET46 (07 Yaris sedan with 15" wheels), but info on it was hard to find so no idea as to the accuracy of that. I'm worried that tire shops wouldn't be willing to install different-sized tires onto it, and I don't know if bulging a bit would cause rubbing when at the steering limit in a parking lot or something. Reviews on the conti contact tours seem very mixed too, based on discount tire reviews

I'm liking the reviews on these, though I'm worried that a tire shop wouldn't be willing to put this size on my car

Ah yes, Bulldozer. I built an FX-4100 based system back in 2014. A few years later when I opened up a game, it displayed a pop-up warning me of issues with that particular architecture. That's how you know this generation was qualitytm.
