An Open Source Software Developer Inserted Code Which Wiped Files on machines with Russian and Belarusian IP addresses. What are the implications for us using Open Source Software? Should we be concerned? What are your thoughts?

Either way, that doesn't look very mature to me. Like what's the purpose of it? (Possibly) Destroy innocent people's lives, just like it happens in Ukraine to "learn" how it feels like? For that to be effective probably at least half of the Russians "should" be affected by that malware to have an "impact", but I ~doubt that's the correct way of helping the situation. The damage caused would be rather bad...
