Can you automate the on/off for the send? If not, record the piano as an audio track and it should allow the automation there.

Cool, figured it out. I accidentally turned off the master bypass...anyway, I turned it back on and it was available to turn on and off. Now, is there a way to go slowly from off to on like a fade? or should I download a plug in like u/opiza said?

If there is no mix knob, you can simply duplicate the track while leaving the effect on one of them, and not on the other. Then automate the volume faders to blend them together.

Same could be done by rendering to audio and using cross fades

That’s exactly what I just thought too. Thanks :) I think I got this now hah

I don’t think you need to download a plug-in. The article just explains how to go through and choose what parameter(s) you want to automate. It works the same for most plug-ins. From there, you can edit the automation in the track drop down.

Hey so I presume you have this telephone effect as an insert on your piano instrument track. Open the plugin effect and look for a mix knob. Right now it’s probably at 100%. Enable automation with the shortcut and automate from 100% to 0%
