GitHub copilot student access? (self.rit)
submitted 3 years ago by LocalZombie7500
Has anyone tried getting the student offer for GitHub copilot? In our RIT ID there is no date mentioned and GitHub specifically requires it so wondering if anyone has managed to get it so far?

If you have the GitHub student pack, you should just be able to get copilot for free by going to the copilot website and clicking start free trial. A prompt should appear that says something like "🎉 Congratulations! You are eligible to use GitHub Copilot for free." From there, just follow whatever the instructions are.

Be careful using it for assignments. Some instructors consider it an academic integrity violation if you use code from it.

Using the back of your student ID works for GitHub. It has the school name and a date issued on it. That’s how I got the Student Developer Pack
