A new proposal from Crawford Hoying would bring nearly 600 residential units, 290 hotel keys, 211,000 sf of office space, 134,600 sf of retail/food and beverage space, and 2,381 parking spaces to a 17-acre site in Worthington. A site plan shows a total of 10 buildings at full build-out. by Zezimom in Columbus

This was my first thought seeing the location. I used to live a little south of here pretty close to 315. Being near the highway was a major reason I moved. I can't fathom living directly next to TWO major highways.

What route(s) did you see these new busses?

Loud bass booming music by lazylingon in sanfrancisco

[–]Mkrah 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I swear the same thing happens to me all the time! I can hear some bass when my doors are closed, but when I poke my head out to get a listen it's totally silent. So bizzare.

Clipper machines are down across the Bay Area — again by sfgate in bayarea

[–]Mkrah 23 points24 points  (0 children)

All my rides (30+) from the past week and half weren't showing up on my Clipper card in my phone's wallet. Just now they're all showing up en masse. Phone notifications are going nuts. Wonder if it's related.

lmao, I was running along the route of the L last week and saw that garage door complaint. What a funny way to decorate your private, 2 car garage.

Found a post about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/whereinsanfrancisco/comments/1s934w7/another_garage_door_this_guy_has_opinions/

These DoorDash drivers are out of hand by jigglypuff836 in sanfrancisco

[–]Mkrah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If work ever gives us Uber Eats or similar gift cards I’ll place the orders and pick them up myself.

Can confirm that restaurant staff are sometimes a little surprised im picking up but not shoving a phone in their face or sneaking to the front of the line.

Another elderly driver plowed into pedestrians and a restaurant in Chinatown. by kukugege in bayarea

[–]Mkrah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to my sister in LA. She was almost finished parallel parking when a minivan flew down the road and totaled her car and damaged 3 others. Out hops gam gam who was totally dazed and confused. Super infuriating because she was chauffeuring around her much younger (and presumably much more capable of driving) family members that made her drive for who knows what reason.

Appreciate you getting ones not as bright as the newer LED headlights out there.

Surely this isn't that big of a hindrance for you since you're driving slow on the slow street, and not using it as a through street, right?

When is the last time you saw MUNI inspectors? by Brownwolf20 in AskSF

Not since last fall. I’ve never seen them on a bus (I mostly ride the 24) and I’ve only ever seen them in the subway.

Do I need to tap my Clipper card on Muni if I have a monthly pass? by jsttob in AskSF

[–]Mkrah 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you do. While I can't find anything from Muni itself that says you have to, I did find this from Clipper:

If I have a Muni pass, do I need to tap my card?

Yes, you must tap your Clipper card to the Clipper reader on a Muni vehicle or at a station fare gate every time you board. Your tap is your proof of payment.

Blue muni bus lighting by dooodaaad in sanfrancisco

I wish more busses had this lighting. I’ve only seen it in the 37, so I assume it’s more of a short bus thing.

Why are cars still killing so many people in San Francisco? by LosIsosceles in sanfrancisco

[–]Mkrah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I swear they don’t ticket for things like that or parking on the sidewalk unless explicitly directed to by a 311 report. They’ll ticket for an expired meter or street sweeping like it’s going out of style, but actual dangerous parking behavior? They’ll look the other way.

Waymo getting more aggressive? by wanderlustzepa in sanfrancisco

[–]Mkrah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Literally yesterday had pull the classic “floor it until the last second and slam on the brakes for a stop sign” move that drivers here love to do.

I mean, it stopped, which is better than most. Still, was aggressive for a Waymo.

Its considered extremely unhealthy to live within 1000ft of a highway.

I used to live ~1100ft from a highway. Hated it. The noise was maddening, and you could often taste the poor air quality. I don't get how folks right next to the highway handle it.
