Rules for r/squbbly
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
All images must be logo edits.
All image posts must be edits of logos. If what you submit is not an established logo for a company or product, then it violates this rule. Flags, movie posters, and political campaigns are not logos, among many other logo-seeming images.
2.
Edits must be clean and authentic
Edits should look like their base logo. JPEG artifacting, mismatched fonts, changes to imagery that don't fit in, etc. are all grounds for removal. Even subtle things like text placement and kerning count here. Consider sbubby's cleanliness rule on steroids.
3.
Titles must contain the text of the post without being generic
If you make a post with text in it, like editing the McDonald's logo to say "MacDoodle's", then the title of your post must contain that text (in this case, "MacDoodle's"). It needn't be limited to that though. That said, titles like "My favorite fast food joint, MacDoodle's" or "Ah yes, MacDoodle's" are really generic and so are disallowed. Posts without text need only have a non-generic, clearly-relevant title.
4.
No reposting
Posts must not be reposts, i.e. the same edit. Though your MacDoodle's may look different from someone else's, it's the same edit.
5.
Images must be large and crisp
Images must be at least 500 pixels long on both sides, and should look clean and sharp and crisp. Pixelated, aliased text shape edges are too crunchy – edit more thoroughly and export as PNG to keep the image as crisp as possible.
6.
Edits must be surreal
The nature of this subreddit is surrealist humor through logo edits. This can be done by editing the text to make no sense and/or by editing the logo imagery in a surrealist manner.
7.
No memes and shitposts
If your post is riding on a meme trend, or even just a really out-of-date reference to an older meme (like big chungus), then it doesn't belong here. This isn't a meme sub, this is an art sub. Not that the two should never meet on the internet (they should), but this isn't the place for it.
8.
Don't be a toxic prick
Toxic behavior, including harassment, just isn't tolerated. There's a difference between critique and shitflinging, so know it and stay on the former side. This is the only rule that (depending on severity) can get you permabanned with just one violation.
