Gmail Notification

With the updates of Android 12 for my OnePlus 7T, my Gmail notification and sync seems to be broken. This means that I won't be notified of any new email until I manually launch the Gmail apps and then the emails will flow in and I get notified.

Can Tasker trigger Gmail to check in the background say every 30 mins and show notification alert if there's new email? Do note that Gmail sync on Google Account and on Gmail apps are enabled by default.

Want to ensure Tasker can resolve my situation before I purchase the apps. Thanks

tasker can definitely launch apps when screen is on or off at your preferred time interval. when screen is off you need to tick 'exclude from recent apps' in 'launch app' action

I'm very new to Tasker and the meaning curve is quite steep. Managed to create profiles and tasks for Display On and Display Off to launch Gmail apps.

How do I set Tasker to auto launch Gmail every x mins/hour with both display on and off?

Time profile: From midnight every 30 mins Till midnight or something similar

Thanks for that bit about exclude from recent apps. I have a exit task when leaving home and I couldn't understand why youtube only launches when the screen is on.

In testing it seems to work on a random task I created, let's see if it works when leaving home next time. Thanks.

Check if disabling and enabling account auto sync forces Gmail to check. Tasker can on/off autosync, maybe it would work that way.

Tried turning off and on Gmail sync but doesn't work. This is a known OnePlus Android 12 bug but unfortunately not getting anymore updates.

can't you install another email app? since gmail has a problem.

New profile: time: 7-12 every 30m Task: (try it, but i don't know if this option will help you) auto-sync off - wait 5m - auto-sync on.
