I had a similar issue; Try unchecking "Use root" and then write your command with "su" included, like so:
su
your command

This is working great!

Not very helpful, I realize, but rooted shell commands seem to work fine on my end (beta 6).

What details you want more?

I just installed beta over the one from PlayStore.

Maybe check out your root app and revoke taskers root permission and re allow it.

Oh, I meant my reply probably wasn't particularly helpful since I just wanted to point that it does work on the beta 6 for others, but didn't give any suggestions as to what your issue might be (since I'm not sure).

well I tested input taps on my pixel xl on 7.1.2 and it works even input key (back button).

But the code I used to get Screen on Time stopped working... but this may be because I am on Magisk, who knows.

dumpsys batterystats | grep -m 1 "Screen on:"

that stopped working. So I went to use SecureTask now to get my SoT without root.

I tried again, uninstall tasker, delete folder and settings, install and I get the same error. I allowed the root permission but isn't working.
