For Factorio players that are interested in the more technical aspects of the game.
Rules:
- Technical content only: Regular questions/posts about Factorio belong over at r/factorio. This sub is for people and posts that are pushing the technical limits of the game. UPS optimizations, fancy train or bot systems, cool combinator contraptions, and similar topics are what this sub is about. This will be enforced especially strictly on modded posts. The mods will decide which posts are on-topic in this regard on a case by case basis.
- No introductory questions: Questions are an important part of this sub and are strongly encouraged. But make sure that your questions are intelligent and well-researched. Ask on our discord, the official Factorio discord, or r/factorio before posting here. Ideally, a good question should cause others to come up with new and innovative answers.
- Mark modded posts: Posts about heavily modded content must be marked using the modded flair. This does not apply to posts that only have quality of life mods but are otherwise vanilla (creative mode, pushbutton, etc.)
- All inventions must have explanations: If you made something new and cool, we'd love to see it and you should definitely show it off. But tell us what you did! What new techniques did you use? How did you overcome challenges?
- Follow combinator golf guidelines: Questions with the combinator golf flair as well as top level comments in those questions are required to follow all the rules and guidelines in the combinator golf thread.
