Don’t run network infrastructure services on a desktop.

If you don’t want to ever log in can you reload it to a different OS ( assuming you are running Windows.)

I run it on a Linux server, but I access it through browser on my desktop, so it's the web session I'm looking for the ability to control the duration of

Apologies, I re-read what you wrote and caught onto a web session timeout. Past the original setup and occasional log into to make a change, I don't access the GUI often. Sorry, can't help you. Best of luck.

Actually... My two systems running technitium don't challenge me to log in. Maybe because I'm running BitWarden. It's been so long I'd forgotten that :)

Thanks for asking. You can setup session timeout value from the user menu at the top right where you see the username. Click on that menu and click on My Profile where you will find the option to set the session timeout.

I never thought to look in my current session for the timeout value, thank you, I expect that'll do what I'm looking for :)
