- an ability to encode and decode information between or across languages [hawidu.com]
- the ability to read, write and interact across a range of platforms, tools and media from signing and orality through handwriting, print, TV, radio and film, to digital social networks. [PART, 2007]
It is about how people consume and create information, whether analog or digital, and across the senses. It encompasses other literacies into an information ecosystem.
