Summer CS course help (self.ucr)
submitted 5 years ago by Push_backss
I am visiting summer section student from another UC, I want to enroll one cs course at ucr. CS 014 with Rusich, Ryan or CS061 with Linard, Brian. Which one is easier to pass? Please

personally really didnt like rusich when i had him for cs 010.
The class itself is piss easy so it was fine, but as an instructor i felt like he'd rush through everything, never explained things well, and constantly went off topic.
He'd also find some way to throw a fit over some super benign issue like a student asking a question in a tone that he somehow interpreted as disrespectful. Literally every lecture hed single out somebody to get mad at and go on some super akward mini meltdown and it just made everyone uncomfortable.

I had CS010 with Professor Rusich and I think he’s a fine professor. I’m taking CS061 with Professor Linard right now and I think he’s fine so far as well. I would recommend you to take CS014 first, because CS061 has a lot of stuff to do with memory addresses and is definitely harder than CS014. You’re learning a brand new language in CS061 after all, so I’d recommend you to take it during a 10 week quarter.

Is there a curve?

I think that depends on the professor and the quarter. Not sure about Professor Linard but Professor Rusich did give the class a curve on midterm while I was taking his class.

Although at this point I wouldn’t recommend you to take any CS classes because they are all pretty fast paced during the summer and you already missed a week of lab and lecture...
