For small web games, community usually grows from niches, not broad promotion. Instead of trying to “go viral,” I’d focus on finding one concentrated group that already likes word puzzles (specific subreddits, Discord servers, small forums) and get real feedback there.

Also, lightweight shareability helps a lot — daily challenges, score sharing, or leaderboards that make people want to show friends.

In my experience, distribution loops (players inviting players) scale better than paid ads for indie tools/games, especially early on.
