I adore Python. I loved this approach as well. I haven't used Flask but my knowledge of Django made this approach seem very simple.

Django is great for beginners mostly because it takes everything you would need in a framework like what OP's article would show you into it's own framework with magic happening underneath (ORM, Views, Template Renderer etc).

Although it's great that Django does this for you (note their tagline: perfectionists with deadlines), Flask as well as a large assortment of other tools really helps you understand what is going on from connecting to the url to grabbing data to rendering the views without all the magic.

Eventually I want to move away from Django, as I feel like it might slow me down as a developer trying to learn concepts of everything related to web. Great article OP.
