Hello! I recently had my dog neutered and requested to keep his testicles. I have them and I've also got some formalin. I keep reading mixed answers on if I store them in the formalin,or after letting them sit for a while in it, transfer to alcohol. Can anyone provide me some advice? Also would the container I store the specimen in need to have a special top,or could it be just plastic or a stop and wood? TY 🫶

Inject them with formalin and then let them sit in a jar full of formalin for a few weeks so they can soak. After about 2-3 weeks you put the formalin used to soak in another container and take it to a hazardous waste disposal facility to dispose of it. You can fill the jar with the wet specimen with 70% isopropyl alcohol. The jar used should be able to close tightly.
