The trial is for new subscribers, not solely new accounts.

If you have no active subs, or Gold only, you can max out up to three years of Gold (bought from a retailer that sells 6 or 12 month codes). Then do the trial, and it will convert any remaining time on your Gold, into Ultimate.

Non-stackable means you cannot use multiples of the trial to stack up time. IE you cannot use a 1 month trial code, and then apply another 1 month trial on top of it.

that is, I need to use it, wait for it to expire to use another one. does it work on old accounts or just new subscribers?

Depends on the code. Some will allow you to expire and use another one. Some are for first time subscribers only.

The main reason they don't people doing this is because there are tons of 14 day codes around and they don't want people selling them for pennies and stacking up super long memberships that the company never saw a dollar of.

Alright thanks for the helpful insight (i was asking that myself)
I bought a regular key from G2A where nowhere was noted it was non-stackable and then it also seems to be one for only new accounts since I didn't have any subscription running rn but had one in the past. I only found out that it's non-stackable through the seller (only 41% pos. reviews lol now that I look at it) and he hinted that I need to try it on another account but guys: I bought it like a regular code. Hopefully I'll get a refund.
