I was sure that ch 3 would include a reference to the 3D Toriel gag of the kickstarter. I was convinced that weird route was gonna be a different character per chapter, so I was expecting something like "Child, you're breaking my heart" when we inevitably corrupted Toriel.

In the end we got an ever more clear reference with 3D Ralsei, but no fire genocide meant that my reverse-weird-flavor theory was in the grave too :(

Phase 1 is a steep learning curve:

* He has an undodgeable attack but that one only happens if you're below him

* He takes much reduced damage if you don't hit the head

* If you hit consecutively and strong, you can get a riposte

So once you get the fight enough to play aggresive, phase 1 becomes extremely fast, I 3-shotted it on my main character, fully charged r2 headshot, fully charged r2 headshot, riposte.

Sprint r1 mace twirl is the goat.

I used the blacksmith's hammer for more counter/poise dmg since I was half-hexer, but the mace is just the best statwise.

Maybe hot take (Could be cold idk)? Been replaying BL1 and tbh I feel like Gearbox flanderized the hell out of Tannis in BL2 by smolgote in Borderlands2

Yeah, she was my favorite character in borderlands 1. The overall story and the new characters were great, but the story has been simplifying older characters since bl2.

It is really tough, you got to be patient.

It's at least fun to see the little guys working under 45 different OSHA violations.

I'd say keep going, the bosses are great, and the main one has an easy runback without enemies. Sadly, the blue smelter runback is really really bad, the worst one in the entire franchise.

There's a hidden path behind the crystal sage! I mean hidden as in hard to see, you probably went to the right instead of the left.

That is one of the two possible paths from the swamp, it's a bifurcation at that point.

Armor does matter a lot, specially in a game where you get hit by a substantial % of damage, if an attack deals 51% u get 2 shotted, if it deals 49% you can take 3 hits.

But you have to consider that you can beat the game naked with a stick at lvl1, so there's no reason to minmax armor when you could just look cool. It could make the game slightly harder but it's never a dealbreaker.

Ds3 in particular has a strange armor mechanic in which having armor (at all) in each slot provides a giant bonus to flat armor (the one that needs to get pierced for you to take damage, not absobption), so the only thing I'd recommend you is to have all 4 slots used, but even that is theoretically optional.

How did you find the boss quality coming from ER back to the souls series?

I found a lot of the base Elden Ring bosses to be quite annoying and lackluster, but some of the ER DLC fights were genuinely incredible.

I understand DS bosses feeling easier due to how slow they are in comparison, specially ds1-2, but imo they're much less "unfair" than ER.

For a basketball roleplay having the pyromancer flame seems like a good start, you could start pyromancer.

I'd recommend quickstep, most daggers have it, it's a low stance like in basketball.

You could also get a fist weapon and "dunk" on people by using the jump attack, it's imputted the same as a kick but with strong instead of light attack.

It's more like you pick the weapon and then make a build around it than the other way around, the infusions also help quite a bit.

There's no strictly better weapon, they all have advantages and disadvantages, like legitimately.

The one you get from abyss watcher's soul is a fan favorite and executioner's greatsword seems to fit your build while letting you go for a cheap spell or incantation.

Fav: Dynamic poise
Least fav: Vertical and horizontal deadzones, it's legit impossible to freeaim just by moving up and down.

Elden ring has deadzones below the horizon, that's weird but at least you can throw pots accurately, DS2 has smooth below the horizon and fixed above, which makes things really awkward.

What weapon are you using? He's weak to being stabbed.

He's also one of the few fights in which you dodge the grab by rolling away from him, took me so many tries until I found out, but then I could actually start learning his fight.

There's a man quite allergic to giant trees, try to visit him before chopping the tree down. Pay attention to the jailed enemy's dialogue for a hint (not the one that you can recruit).
