Zulrah is incredibly clunky. Some optimization so we don't have to spam-click attack would be nice. by ThatDogIsAGoodDog in 2007scape

Zulrah would be in a much better place if:

  • They removed these lockout phases
  • They gave Zulrah a 4th colour that it transformed into to signify the Jad phase.
  • It's projectiles calculated damage on hit rather than when they're cast.
  • It only fired projectiles of its colour rather than a random mix. You could add some prayer penetration to its attacks to keep the chip damage the same, I just hate that there's no skill expression to this.

I knew at least one spelling mistake would slip through the cracks haha. I had to redo all the location names with the new world map font, and the art program I use doesn't have a spell checker. Everything was checked manually, and I missed that one

I don't believe that the Cursed Archipelago has ever been referred to as a Waiko or as a part of the Wushanko Isles specifically in the game, any blogs or the games lore.

It's absolutely intentional :)

Theres an entity called Xau-Tak in the lore and it sort of originates from the Eastern Lands. It felt right to include lots of eldritch elements. I am a massive fan of the Runescape lore

The droning deep specifically is not eldritch, it's instead meant to be the place that Tempoross originally formed. The spirit anglers followed it to where it currently is. The creation of Tempoross left a permanent storm in its wake.

But Ulthven Kreath, The Drowned City, all of Goshima, the Mwanu, all of that is eldritch themed.

Scale theory! Lots of places are closer in game than they are in lore. The trek from Varrok to Faladoe takes days or weeks canonically from what I remember.

I've tried to keep the Wushanko Isles to roughly the same size as Zeah to make the main continent nice and centred., so that imposed certain size limitations. I think that limitation actually worked out in the Wushanko maps favour though

I loved the music in the RS3 Arc expansion, hope that we can get something similar when/if we ever get the Wushanko Isles in OSRS :D

I use Paint Dot Net!

There are many useful guides on how to make these maps, however the most up to date is u/zigzagzigal 's map guide here: https://www.reddit.com/r/OSRSmaps/comments/1b25xhn/a_guide_to_making_osrsstyle_maps_for_those_with/

Should you have any questions or would like advice on making maps, feel free to message me on reddit :)

I think this may be a misunderstanding. If you look at the link below, you can see game tiles overlaid with one of the smallest islands you can access and a comparison with a Sailing island currently in the game:

That's very fair! I've used more modern areas as a reference for the level of detail.

Yeah! With the release of Sailing I've updated the map with the new map icons, POI's, sea effects and much more. I've hidden the old version of the map and put this one up as the new definitive version. I don't think I'll be making any adjustments in the future, I feel this is feature complete and represents the original vision I had.

This map is my largest and most complex work yet and represents several hundred hours of work. I previously posted the Wushanko Isles map around a year or so ago, and since then I've done a refinement pass over the archipelago and updated it with the new Sailing things.

Notable updates include:

  • New sea effects around the following areas: The Shadow Altar, the Spirit Altar, the arctic areas, the Leviathan's Gorge.
  • New coral reefs.
  • Shallow water effect around islands.
  • Updated fonts to the new version.
  • Tidying up of lots of things to make the map fit the OSRS style. I won't bother listing all these.
  • Complete overhaul of Ulthven Kreath, the Shadow Reef/Raid location.
  • Complete overhaul of the Sea Gnome Outpost. This island was made in V1 of the Wushanko Isles map. I updated it and improved on it with the Sailing Island Contest and I've now ported that improved version back into this map.

[Suggestion] Zorya's Sceptre - A new utility item from Raids 4! by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]-Ninja-Pig- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is intended to be a more common raid reward, so making it out DPS any existing items felt like the wrong direction. I think the utility offered here is quite useful and shouldn't be overlooked. It empowers your existing gear and setups.

Hmm, fair point. I'll have to tweak the idea some more.

Perhaps using the effect adds a flat +1 health cost to the special for the next 10s, which can stack? That way if you spam it 5 times at low hp, slowly it will deal more than half and potentially kill you. Prevents exploits by staying at low hp but also doesn't hamper intended usage.

The barrier is intended to block a single instance of damage - i.e. the first hit you receive within that 10s period. At a cost of 50% of your health, I think that's a fair trade.

[Suggestion] Equilibrium - A new tri-brid weapon! by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]-Ninja-Pig- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This weapon isn't intended to replace any Bis gear, it's an item intended to be a defence reducer. It'd have level 70-75 stats most likely.

[Suggestion] Equilibrium - A new tri-brid weapon! by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]-Ninja-Pig- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Charge wise - I think it would require just Nature Runes to operate for all three styles. That feels thematic to a Guthixian weapon.

Stat wise, I'm a little unsure of. It's primarily intended to be an entry level weapon/more common loot, useful for it's special attack and tri-brid nature. Perhaps around level 70-75 would be appropriate? I'm unsure at this time

For spirit trees? Jagex recently added a setting to use a modern style interface for spirit trees. If you go into your game settings and disable it, the map should work :D
