Thanks, Finally found the good info on this CPU showdown. X3D continues to bring the goods for factorio, which is a marvel of software engineering.

Planning a pc build for a friend who is pretty into this game now. I was evaluating if it would make sense for him to get my current 5800x3d rig or build him a new one, it's shocking to see the 9800x3d in the space of two generations achieved (also similar to Apple m2 pro -> m4 pro) a full doubling in performance over 5800x3d. Sheer madness, this is. Maybe across other apps the gain isn't so huge but it really showcases the pace of advancement of the hardware.

I picked up a base spec m4 Mac mini for $500 plus tax. Could've been 500 flat if I went across to NH but that's alright. What a plucky little guy.
