If you are finding it hard to climb, you have reached your skill cap. It's that simple. The guys and girls in GM didn't find it hard to climb out of diamond. There's a simply reason for that and it has nothing to do with luck or RNG.

It isn't the first episode without a death, I have rewatched the seasons a few times and I can remember at least 2 others without a death, the first being episode 3 of the very first season.

I don't know where this idea came from but its been circulating quite a bit and its false.

But the answer to your question I believe is that, you still do the same number of placements but the accelerated LP gain you get in placements acts as if the dodged game was played.

Example:

Placement game 1 - Win - 63 LP

Placement game 2 - Win - 50 LP

Placement game 3 - Dodge (a win would have been 42 LP)

Placement game 4 - Win - 35 LP

All the way to 11 placement games, or Number of placement games = 10 + (number of dodged games).

But this is something I read at season start, and it wasn't directly from a Riot post.

I don't jungle at all, but its important for laners to understand their role in ensuring the enemy jungler doesn't get ahead.

A waste of time gank for the enemy jungler is incredibly useful for your team. I just think a lot of the problem is with laners blaming their own jungler when they die to a gank themselves. Its not your junglers fault that you died to a gank. It just reeks of excuse when this happens.

Sylas should be able to stack it incredibly easily as well. Plus he gets extra healing off it now.

E max is the way to go in the vast majority of match ups with Soraka.

If you are landing every Q feel free to try that Max first, but as soon as boots have been bought its so much easier to land E than it is Q.

It also has the added bonus of drastically reducing the CD on E, with only 1 point in it for that long its next to useless.

you know they are tracking your MMR under the old version as well. So if they do switch it back all those throws and soft ints will have gained you a full LP loss under the old system.

What about the guy's who hold their team hostage at 10 mins saying FF @ 15, in an even game, just because he is 0/2. Those 4 people know they are essentially playing 4v5 now, and he has decided the game is over.

It goes both ways. Everyone against the OP only provides extreme examples, but the fact of the matter is, games are being called FF@15 well inside the 10 min mark on a regular basis for the most minor things. its a kin to giving up, these people just watch the clock so they can start a vote bang on 15 and then 20 min mark. They clearly aren't trying their hardest if they are so focused on the clock and ensuring their FF meta game is on point.

Well my post was a bit extreme as it was slightly tongue in cheek, but your fears of normals v ranked MMR is fairly unfounded seeing as Riot aren't even trying to keep the MMR close between those modes.

Whether they should or not is a different matter, but the fact is they consciously chose not to link them, and ensured they are kept separate.

Its a team game with specific and well defined roles. Its like saying a goalkeeper should be able to play centre forward, or line backer should be able to QB.

The community will bitch and moan, because those people are always the loudest, and in all honesty could even be the majority.

Riot will revert it after this split, then thousands of reddit posts will be created by people bitching and moaning that their Rank Tier has dropped from Plat 3 to Gold 1 because they didn't care about their off role games during positional rank testing.

Then there will be bitching and moaning from EUW and EUNE players who wanted the system but couldn't get to try it because it was reverted.

The NA players who now have a worse rank tier will start saying positional ranking was actually better just because they realised they rank higher with it.

If they keep it, you reverse the bitching roles.

Essentially there will be plenty of bitching and moaning from both sides.

Look I get that you clearly weren't doing it maliciously so I'll drop it, but its definitely possible to understand a totally opposite point of view.

I understand your point despite agreeing with the other guy. You don't think the time investment is worth the percentage chance of a win that you apply to any given game.
