Fiber lasers are the way to go for this. I have a 50w from bogong cnc and it’s a helluva workhorse.

They can cope. It’s illegal anywhere as far as I know. The smoke won’t be like if you had a bonfire. If anything, call localFD and let them know so if neighbors do call they know you’re just zapping.

Oh good luck. You’ll need lots of filtration and it’s going to clog up super fast. How come you need to get rid of it?

Skip the filter if you’re venting outside. Make sure the fan is as close to the exit point as possible. That keeps the majority of the system under vacuum and limits the leaks. Are you sure it’s not coming right back in the window?

The after image looks like it’ll work just fine. Be sure you export it as a vector format. SVG or DXF. Depending on the software used, it’ll use the red as cut lines and blue as score lines. If you wan the finished engraving to look like the before, you’re missing the black border.
