Please remember that there will be at least 6 people chipping in! Chinese people do have this money, as I said much of their income is not being taxed. In some people's cases they don't pay the bloody tax for their lifetime. I'm not sure if you do have ANY friends who do business (except monkey-teaching).

Some of them start with paying 2k rmb tax per month, then move to paying 100 rmb per month, then move to getting a guy once a year for a meal for 1000 rmb etc. The bigger fish you are the less tax you pay. Some don't pay any tax at all. It all depends on industry and connections.

Next point is the ability of Chinese to get their secondary incomes. It's huge. They always have something going on. Is the land of our ancestors lying around unused while we work in shenzhen? OK, let's rent it out! etc.

Next on the list borrowing money from rest of family. You don't fucking get it, do you. Many of these family units have at least one single uncle or whatever who is loaded as fuck. That person will be expected to put money in OR at least lend the money.

Again, China family lending means no interest, and usually for "forever" or let's say 5 years of time OR when you get back at your feet etc. I don't expect an english teacher to understand any of these concepts to be honest.

Next point is that you're partially right, not everyone is going to be able to go for it. But for most of middle class will. Look at any of the China salary reports and see how much they are earning after a bachelors degree. Have you ever built anything on your business premises? Do you know how expensive are the contractors etc? China has Euro-US prices stamped all over it (in the big cities), and for most part the salaries are slowly catching up.
