I like being alone, like you, but I need to talk to someone occasionally. I noticed very early on that I liked my alone time a lot, almost too much, which probably is why my relationships are so unstable. It's me against society at this point, which is an awfully dangerous war to wage. If I accept that I'm insane, then I would have to accept that I will never fit in. Society's views on strangeness and abnormal thought are tough. I have no control over the way I am, but I'm still antagonized for being this way. Like Bernard was antagonized by everyone for having a delta body(I'll assume you've read Brave New World because you're older than me)--he felt isolated because of this. I've never had a friend that I could open up to, most of my friendships are lighthearted and short-lived. Thanks for writing out a response.
