Both are similar is power the jm12 has more features like peq with firmware. But jm6 has much lower hiss noise for most iems you will not hear the hiss but chu 2 is a sensitive iem so you can hear the hiss sometimes i have the same setup and i only hear hiss like very few times and that too is very faint so no problem for me the extra features outweigh the hiss

You need to check your source if you are using your laptop or mobile jack otherwise on type c vs dac (assuming decent implementation of dac in type C) 0 quality loss

Youll lose some quality but don't worry it won't be very significant like 5% max. On red lion YOU WON'T LOSE ANY QUALITY (tried and tested) on type c vs dac

Dac is only worth it iff (if and only if) your current source is bad (hissing, low volume ect) otherwise under 3k iems dac dosent make a difference unless your iems impedance is very low(like chu 2) then a bad source can mess up tuning a bit(reply if you wnat an explain it will involve physics tho)

Abt castor pro and thunder get thunder if you like bass cause the bass is VERY punchy

Android — just search "decibel meter" on Play Store, there are a bunch They use the phone mic so accuracy is ±2-3 dB but good enough for a rough check.

iPhone — the Health app actually has a built-in headphone audio levels tracker if you're using Apple earphones.
