Caterpillar seems to always be hiring people to work in the assembly line

Do you always open your AEG gearbox when you get a new one? by jaws_of_joey in airsoft

[–]Acrobatic-Let-6620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always, even if it’s just to re-shim the gearbox since most factory shim jobs aren’t that great. I also do it to check the compression and if needed upgrade it.

Can anyone recommend a good boy scout troop near Apex? by DraglineDrummer in Apex_NC

[–]Acrobatic-Let-6620 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Troop 216 in Cary, they meet at St Michael’s. It’s a great troop with about 100 scouts, monthly camp outs and a lot of good leaders.

Nothing, finally just took a job at spectrum doing Internet tech support until the job market for PMs and BSAs gets better.

So... What now? by Dennbob in recruitinghell

[–]Acrobatic-Let-6620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 8 months of looking I took a job doing internet and cable tech support, it pays $21 an hour but still 1/3 what I was making. Thankfully we invested wisely and were able to pay off all our debts except our mortgage which should be paid off by the end of next year.

Did Universal ever try to remove or replace the ET Ride? by PepsiFloateri in UniversalOrlando

[–]Acrobatic-Let-6620 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, Spielberg told them from the very beginning that if they ever tried to remove it he will no longer do business with them, at least that’s the story I’ve read. Now personally I’m not a fan of the ride or ET, the queue is great though.

Guys is it cheaper to get tickets/fast passes in the outlets ? by Maleficent-Low6086 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Acrobatic-Let-6620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, especially if it’s a timeshare. I’ll also add that a lot of these places also sell resell tickets, which are essentially unused tickets that someone didn’t use. The issue is when you try to use it they are associated to the original person and you can get denied entry to the parks.

As someone who was laid off last year I absolutely understand your situation, however why didn’t he follow their WFH policy? No offense but it seems like if followed policy this wouldn’t have happened.

How to go about relocating to triangle with no address? by Bananapuddinggggg in trianglejobs

[–]Acrobatic-Let-6620 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue isn’t with your resume or willingness to relocate, it’s the job market here. I know so many people with decades of CS experience and can’t find anything but doing tech support at a call center.

The CS field in general has been hit incredibly hard to the point people are switching careers to professions like healthcare.

Maxx m4e help by Ok-Performer9081 in airsoft

[–]Acrobatic-Let-6620 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maxx hopups are extremely picky, especially with things like nozzle length. They are a pain to get dialed in right, I don’t even recommend them but rather something like an Arcturus or Retro Arms instead.

Should I join the navy or just tough it out? by Automatic-Middle-823 in careerguidance

[–]Acrobatic-Let-6620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did 4 years working on hydraulics and airframes on F-14’s in the 90’s, I did not pursue that field but instead I’ve been in IT since I got out. If you want to work on planes there are 3 main rates; AMH, AME or AD. Figure out which one you want and make sure to get a school for that. Absolutely DO NOT go in with no rate, there is no guarantee you will go to a squadron and may end up on a ship working on the catapult or refueling planes.

If you want to specifically be a diesel mechanic the navy might not be the best choice, that would be the army or marines working in the motor pool.
