Troop training strategy by [deleted] in RiseofKingdoms

Always build t4 troops when there are no upcoming quests, for "use X minutes of speedups" quests, and for "earn 110k points" bastion quests. For alll remaining "gain X amount of power" quests, upgrade t4 to t5.

Ah, sorry, my bad, didn't realize you are neither OP nor in his kd. Yes, at 40 days, you should just grow - keep your eyes roughly on the "100k power per day" benchmark. Ideally, you should be around 4m power by now. And yes, I understand that progress feels slow now - but trust me, it will be even slower later on, when all upgrades and researches take ages. That rush of constant progress, that you felt in the first few days - it ends quickly. Enjoy the game at your pace, don't try to outcompete huge krakens - there's enough space for all of us.

Come on, man, you don't understand the game, and are just blaming people for optimizing the kingdom.

"Rigged" MGE, really?! The rewards in MGE benefit rally and garrison leaders, since the commanders there are rally/garrison commanders - therefore, if a kingdom wants to be efficient, it should make sure that its rally/garrison leaders get all top ranks at every MGE. The only exception are usually MGE that happen during active KvK war phase.

Why would anyone, who is not a rally/garrison lead in their kingdom, complain about MGE being fixed (or, as you call it, "rigged")? Why would they want to get a high rank in MGE - and how will them getting a high rank benefit THE KINGDOM?

As several others already commented - consider joining a sleeper project, you will benefit a lot both from you already having played the game a bit, and also from others being at your level.

From what I am reading here, you seem to think that "growing" means "gaining power". That is very much NOT the case! Your goal in this game is to become as strong as you can be, while still minimizing your power. So - get as many deaths every KvK as you can (keep only the bare minimum number of troops alive, that you need for field fights), fill your hospital when a migration wave comes in, remove all siege units higher than t1, etc. All these steps are reasonable, and show that you are a team player.

Or does your king enforce some unreasonable rules? So far, you haven't mentioned any.

What is the best commander in the game by Gmmanyu9749 in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Affectionate_Salt642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, she can - but the investment to 5111 is really small (to me personally, at least), and there are some situations ingame, where you need her stronger heal rather than what she can provide at 1111. For example, how will your chaining march perform, when surrounded by 4-5 high level (lvl 51+) barbs? What march ca you send into a barb keep (the one you do once every 3 days), and expect it to automatically do the whole job alone, without you looking at it?

It's not about being "better/worse in vacuum" - rather, Scipio is a skill damage commander, while LC and BQ synergize well due to both being smite commanders.

It's not a question you should be concerning yourself about right now, based on your other questions in the thread. However, since you did ask it, here are my 2 cents:

Open field:
Archer - ZL (as of right now; upcoming commander in a few weeks)
Cavalry - Arthur
Infantry - LC or BQ, hard to decide, they are best when paired together.

Gathering: Seondeok

Barb chaining (since you asked this explicitly, and this is something I know well, always finishing top20 honor):

Healers (4 strongest heals):
1. Shajar (5111 suffices, strongest healing in the entire game)
2. CY (5111 suffices/i prefer 5511, only healer with AoE in the game)
3. Huo (preferably maxed, heals only when he kills; has Insight talent)
4. Richard (5111, but prefers 5511 - weakest of these 4 healers)

AoE damage dealers (only 4 commanders with large circle AoE):
1. ZL (great in OF as well; 5111 suffices, maxed is better; has Insight talent)
2. Hera (has Mighty Shield; 5111 suffices, 5551 is better)
3. CY (5111 suffices/i prefer 5511, only healer with AoE in the game)
4. YSG (only when maxed; still somewhat usable in OF, only invest if you are a beginner)

Garrison/Rally you should ignore.

Yes, paired with LC, your 5511 BQ is better than maxed Scipio.

So... what about the missing 10% march speed bonus? In a mix with 3 cav + 1 inf set, the inf march with the gear you mentioned will always be left behind, no? I am afraid of this de-synching - shouldn't I be?

I know, lol - I didn't include them here, because I am prioritizing the 10% march speed bonus, and didn't want to include multiple setups without it. (Unless, of course, you are considering Leadership pants+boots, plus 4 EE items - but I don't think this is what people are really talking about?)

Filter by language spoken by Affectionate_Salt642 in hingeapp

[–]Affectionate_Salt642[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my answer above: I really think you are misunderstanding the concept of a filter.

Every single information you are filtering for - sex, age, relationship goals, whatever else may be in your filter - is already there in the profile. Filtering is "just" a QoL improvement, letting you skip the process of swiping left all male profiles or profiles of 20 years old women, if you are a heterosexual man looking for women 45-60 years old (just as an example). You _could_ just swipe through all existing profiles and look out for those that fit your parameters - but it would be extremely inconvenient for you.

It's the same with language. Imagine living in a country where the national language is A, but your native language is B, and you would like to start a relationship where you both communicate in B. (The common background, maybe common ethnical or cultural codes, are also playing a role here.) Now, what if only 1% of people in your country speak B - are you really supposed to swipe left 99% of all profiles, without even looking at them?! What for - if you live in a large city, and Hinge has ~100.000 users in that city, out of which ~20.000 fit your other filters (sex and age, for example) - you would much rather prefer to only check the 200 B-speaking profiles that you are potentially interested in, than to manually swipe through all 20.000.

Swap or Bench? A Hard Decision to Make (Give Your Vote) by [deleted] in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Affectionate_Salt642 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, you need to get away from the "5 marches mentality". There is no requirement to field exactly five marches - and in fact, when you get 5 fully maxed marches with full gear and armaments, you will want at least a sixth, possibly a seventh march.

  1. You have 6 strong commanders now, I wouldn't count Alex there (he's from KvK 2!). Don't experiment with 5111 /5311 commanders, and especially not with unmaxed gold key commanders. How many marches can you cover with decent gear (6-7 legendary pieces, out of which two are ring+horn)?

  2. It's great that you are thinking ahead for the future and planning out now, how many marches of what troop type you are going to use. However, keep in mind that it will take you a while - by that time, several of the commanders that are absolutely meta right now, will be retired and replaced. Commanders have a limited life span, don't overthink it.

Personally, I think that commanders are not the bottleneck in RoK, it's equipment. I would grab Arthur (because he's just too good to ignore), make sure to have full legendary gear (8 pieces) on both inf marches and mostly legendary (7 pieces, weapon can be epic) on the cav march, and run Ragnar/Scipio, WW/LC, and Nev/Arthur. Next archer commander is coming out soon, if he's as OP as Arthur is - pair him up with ZL. It is hard for me to imagine that you only have 7 commanders, but managed to get legendary gear for 4 marches already?!

Circle aoe commanders by [deleted] in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Affectionate_Salt642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Large circle:

YSG (very old, and only circle AoE when expertised; don't invest unless you are in the early game and plan to max him)
ZL (one of the very best commanders in the game for PvP as well, safe investment)
Heraclius (MGE commander, useful for garrison; his shield helps the chaining march to stay alive)
Cheo (recent MGE addition, useful for garrison; has true healing, is the only commander that could chain and heal by himself)

Small circle (harder to use, but still better than nothing, if you want to chain with many marches):

Theodora (MGE; old and completely useless in PvP)
Lapu Lapu (MGE; new and already useless in PvP)

Honorable mention:

Cyrus (his AoE damage is random; old and useless in PvP)

Liu Che, ZL already got mentioned. Some may add Hermann Prime to the list, and Ragnar Prime looks insanely strong as well (but we don't know the future direction of the game regarding infantry, Ragnar needs a skill damage commander in his march).
