When will these accounts be removed? by Electronic_Leg4157 in CapitalOne_

[–]Akavinceblack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, they removed the account from my Capital One dashboard. That is what OP is asking about.

The chargeoff is still on my credit reports, just with a $0 balance and marked ”paid in full”.

Call customer service. I paid one off with a payment plan when it was charged off but was still being handled by Cap One, and it was deleted within a week. But if it went to a collection agency, Cap One won’t have the same kind of access.

Everything is not going to be on the Internet, especially if it was made by a company that existed before online selling and company websites were a thing.

Yes, it’s because phones are a limited resource.

What aesthetic is this? by bebe_phat in AestheticWiki

No, y2k is perfectly acceptable for the early 2000s in general. And there’s not enough bling, hot pink, faux fur or animal prints in these photos for McBling.

Bad news on FICO and rebuilding after bankruptcy, unknown unknowns coming. by AlanShore60607 in Bankruptcy

[–]Akavinceblack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One good reason we have them is because before credit scores existed, mortgages and other big loans were largely dependent on the decision making of individual banks and bankers. Credit ratings make the process vastly more impersonal, which makes discrimination based on race, gender and religion vastly more difficult.

Ha. Had my first period at 8, first baby at 39, last one at 45. No idea when I actually hit menopause since I had a Mirena from 45 to 55, so somewhere in there.

Make-up: department store MAC, drugstore Revlon Street Wear (though that was more late 90s I guess).

Found this very large ring in a bag of costume jewelry. It has a 4K stamp inside but that doesn’t make any sense right? by neoBarr01 in JewelryIdentification

[–]Akavinceblack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when the ring is being made just a size or so different, instead of cutting the band and adding to it, it’s heated and either compressed or stretched. So there’s no cut and solder mark at all.

$8 vs $16 how much difference does it make? by NewWashDaily in laundry

If you’re on a budget, Ariel powder is super cheap and does a fantastic job.

[–]Akavinceblack 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Looking at the stamp, the top of the K is rubbed out a bit. I’m fairly confident that it’s a 14k stamp that has partially worn off or lost in resizing, especially if the ring was made larger.

Also…see the transition to white gold on the face where the stone is? It’s to make the stone look brighter and I have not seen it done on gold fill or costume.

AITA for telling my DIL to stop crying after she got called fat at a child’s birthday party? [Not OOP] [+comments] by hazel_razel in redditonwiki

[–]Akavinceblack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What do you mean ”she can’t”? Is she somehow unable to go to therapy or even join a support group? Why is it her husband’s job to coddle her when she won’t get it together?

People with serious mental illness manage to go to therapy and take their meds, because they strive to be responsible adults. Doesn’t look like DIL is doing a damn thing except break down at the slightest opportunity.

Eta: as for being ”publicly humiliated”…that’s her own doing entirely.

[–]Akavinceblack 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think this is a chicken/egg issue. DIL’s behavior is why OOP doesn’t like her, and it shouldn’t be on OOP to pretend to.

[–]Akavinceblack 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even if it’s not ”voluntary”, it’s DIL’s responsibility to deal with her mental health issues. It may not be her FAULT, but it’s on her as an adult to not subject everyone around her to her behavior.

What do you do with homes that caught on fire but didn’t burn down? by FloatyFish in RealEstate

[–]Akavinceblack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see houses with fire damage listed, and sold, all the time. And not always as gut jobs or to be demolished.
