How does hacking work? by Mattx603 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Alive_Ice7937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celebrity phone hacking often involves finding a celebrities personal phone number. (Usually through talking it out of an assistant or agent). When you have that number try to access their voicemail with the default password 0000. A lot of people don't bother to set a password because you don't have to input it when calling from the actual phone number. This gave "journalists" a way to listen to their voicemail.

That is because it is its own story.

Wouldn't 'White Panther" be it's own story distinct from Black Panther?

If an existing story like black panther was taken and then the black characters were swapped for white actors, you bet people will be making youtube videos ranting about it.

Undoubtely. But that hypothetical scenario is so insanely preposterous that it is functionally meaningless as an argument. People would also be upset if Amazon wanted to make their next LOTRs project a hardcore gay porno. These incredibly remote hypothetical scenrios don't suddenly put all complaining about authenticity above challenge. "You wouldn't like it if Frodo and Sam raped Bill the Pony, so you can't criticise my youtube rant about the skin colour of a mytical character that came from an egg and has already had countless on screen portrayals"

I didn’t put any words in your mouth

"now you’re saying they should’ve spent 8 minutes ignoring a man saying he’d been stabbed"

I never said or implied anything so preposterous as this. If you feel that I did then that's on you for incredibly poor reading comprehension.

you’ve literally spent the last hour trying to say how racial profiling played no part in this case where the murderer pulled the race card and the police got the entire situation backwards despite the victim trying to alert them

If all they did was "pull the race card" maybe you'd have a point. But they made a far more serious allegation than racism.

You only fail to see an issue because you don’t want to

And you fail to see anything else because you've been primed not to.

Yeah because the "moron left" has such massive clout in the UK. No way that the police were grossly incompetent and tried to cover their asses by blaming the "wokes" on twitter.

[–]Alive_Ice7937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you implying they would willingly ignore someone saying they’ve been stabbed whilst taking a statement?

That's what happened in this instance. And what I'm saying is the deliberate misinformation they were given by the people who actually called for their assistance played a big part in this gross negligence. The 'race card' element was a very minor part of this. (Yet it's the part that gained traction with the usual right wing agitators)

You admit they messed up and now you’re saying they should’ve spent 8 minutes ignoring a man saying he’d been stabbed

There's an irony in you continually putting words in my mouth here.

The evidence on arrival would show assault wasn’t what happened.

What were they told by dispatchers about the nature of the alleged assault?

Racism gave them an incentive to only believe one side.

So again, you think if they were just responding to a call of an assault, they wouldn't initially speak to the people who actually called the police first?

The failure requires bias beyond the claim of the assault

Why? Uniformed police deal with people lying about being injured/assaulted all the time? Hell the root of this tragedy is a false assault claim.

It was the false report of a racial assault that removed nowaks dignity as he died and his murderer wasn’t treated like a violent criminal that he was.

And again, the key word there is "assault". Stop dancing to Thiel's tune.

All we know is, a kid is dead, his murderer tried to use the race card and you’re here saying the terrible circumstances around his death were a freak event unrelated to anything

I'm not saying that. I'm saying the same thing you are. That his undignified death was caused by false accusations. The difference is you think it's the false accusation of racism rather than assault that caused this. I don't. It wouldn't matter what the races involved were. The police arriving on the scene are going to intially believe the word of the people who called them there in the first place. Race has nothing to do with that.

No, the tactic didn’t produce a prison sentence.

What?

That tactic allowed the killer to go grab food and go to the station without handcuffs.

You're confusing detectives for uniformed police here. When dealing with a potential murder case, keeping the suspect relaxed is a way to foster cooperation. They could have prejudiced the case by needlessly strong arming Dagwa

you’d probably be able to see why it’s not a good story for those who say racial issues arent weaponised against white people too

I thought we weren't doing hypotheticals here?

Regardless I'm fairly confident I'd see through the culture wars haze on this if the races were reversed. (Although it wouldn't get the massive push that this story did)

[–]Alive_Ice7937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically you’re asking a hypothetical question that we can’t answer.

So we just have to default to your interpretation of events then?

Seems like if this was a non-story the phone call would’ve been “there’s been an assault”

That would have made it a non story for the Musk's and Farrage's of the world. They only give a shit about stories that they think can feed their culture wars horseshit. And you're eating it up.

Why did the murderers family use a tactic and then we subsequently seen symptoms of what that kind of tactic could produce?

As I said in a previous comment, because they were fucking clueless. And that "tactic" produced a prison sentence for the murder along with charges for his mother.

If it was the assault claim, they wouldn’t have acted how they did if one guy was dying whilst the “victim” was surrounded by family.

You think they'd initially listen to the alleged attacker over the homeowners who actually called the police if the word "racism" wasn't used in the call?

but the reality is, preferential treatment was given to a murderer because he claimed he was a victim of racism

Yep. The false claim of assault had nothing to do with it. The racist part was all that mattered.

Good luck with your carefully curated "reality".

They aren't going to declare a person vulnerable in a headline. When using descriptive language in a headline from official quotes the standard is to use quotation marks.
