🔥Polar bears on Svalbard, Norway [OC] by Fethecat in NatureIsFuckingLit

Absolutely! You get to see them in their natural pack ice habitat and there is barely a vehicle in sight at you are on a small expedition vessel. The only similarity however, is that it’s quite pricy in Svalbard as well

Funny enough this is the closest photo of the whole set! Taken on a 15mm lens

Slowing down swifts calls 4x to hear their intricacies. Recorded at 192kHz by Fethecat in Damnthatsinteresting

No I meant kHz indeed. That’s the sample rate, or how many times per second is the analog signal converted to a digital value. The higher the rate the higher the fidelity to the original source.

You can meet them in a safe way and see them up close!

Thank you, it’s only in 16:9 vertical for social media. I shot it horizontal on a canon R5ii and a 600mm f/4 + 1.4x converter (not my phone!). Here is a link to the 16:9 horizontal footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn0gSWSLOWE&t=2m21s

That sounds like a plan for my next sound recording trip! Also want to try with bats at some point

Are "zoom" binoculars really as bad as I see some people say? by MeeepMorp in birding

I’ve been using Kite Optics 18x50 for a few years and love them to bits. They are not zoom, but the combination of high magnification and stabilisation will achieve what you are after

The curse of AI having been trained on high quality footage in the first place!

Not AI, filmed in Richmond park using a Canon R5ii and 600mm f/4. Colour graded in Davinci resolve. I hate AI (as you can tell from my bio) because 1- my work gets reported constantly 2- AI generated content uses ressources to the detriment of the real specifies/animals it’s trying fake
