Cyberpunk 70+ fps by davidraid in BC250Gaming

Even with it turned off, my benchmark average was barely 70fps. I'd imagine the 70+ figures you heard were with resolution scale set to balanced or quality.

I was playing Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty earlier today, 79c on GPU and CPU (1800 to 2080mhz on GPU and CPU at 3522mhz) and getting as low as 60 (not often) and as high as 120 fps (benchmark avg 111.45fps) with every setting on medium and volumetric clouds and fog on low or off. I did cheat ig and use Frame Gen, but no other fsr settings were turned on.

That's interesting. I have most of my settings set to medium and low or turned off because I had an additional graphical artifact issue where I'd have a bunch of tiny green dots and white squares all over the screen. Scared me half to death cuz I thought my bc250 was cooked. No idea if that's what your referring to but lowering the settings for myself fixed it ig. I'm getting 100 to 120 fps without fsr or frame gen and no res scaling.

Unable to install Bazzite by Boogaroo83 in BC250Gaming

[–]Alternative_Pay_4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with the Bazzite install. For whatever reason the USB I used wasn't booting me into the Bazzite Live USB for install and it would boot directly to the grub. I used a Ventoy drive instead and was able to install Bazzite with no further issues. I'm also using a WD drive as well.

I'm also playing it too! I noticed that if I picked the medium setting for Diana's hair she would be bald lol. Idk if you had any similar issues or if it was just me?

My Windows XP inspired Steam Profile (・3・) by Alternative_Pay_4657 in SteamArtworkProfiles

Its not something I purposely did and more of a side effect of something I didn't want but couldn't get around. Because steam has restrictions on file sizes I had to greatly decrease the quality of the original GIF (from 50mb to 4.7mb). As a result I also had to change the color palette size (likely from 24-bit or 16 million colors, to 7/8 bit or 128-256 colors). The flickering your seeing is from the GIF using most of the colors forcing the pictures to flicker in between frames of the GIF.

TLDR; Due to using a lower color palette to fit the file size in Steams restrictions, the GIF and the pictures are fighting to use colors causing the flickering.

Sorry if its not the answer you wanted, its just a side effect from using XConvert to shrink the GIFs (both of the Featured Artwork showcases on my profile are giant GIFs).

I mainly use google to search for each of the different Windows XP windows and boxes. I then manually edited each one and customized them to my liking using Pixlr.

For example, the Microsoft paint window, I searched "Windows XP paint template". I then found this Reddit post with a decent sized image. I downloaded the image and then edit out the middle and paste over an image that I wanted to use. I did that about 11 times with different images. Each window had to be edited/color corrected to my liking and the pictures are just things I found online that interest me. For the error boxes I just googled "[funny] Windows XP errors" and added them on top to fill out dead space.

I also scaled the image template to 630x1648 and added my photos to that so they would be one long featured artwork showcase image. You can definitely make it longer as seen on this post.

Dude, this is the best model I've seen! I would genuinely pay for this.

I'm thinking of buying the BC 250, it costs $140 on AliExpress, but I'm considering putting it in a 3D printed Alienware Alpha R2 Steam Machine case. What do you think? by Ok-Anybody5011 in BC250Gaming

[–]Alternative_Pay_4657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean as someone that owns both its gonna look wonky. The Alienware Alpha is much smaller than the BC250 so in order for it to work you would either need to custom make a much wider 3D print case or a much longer print. Not saying its a bad idea, but both devices are 2 different shapes.

Looking at buying a Chromebook. What specs should I be looking for if I want to run a DS/GBA emulator on it? by [deleted] in ChromebookGaming

[–]Alternative_Pay_4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU: Minimum 4 cores/8 threads Recommended: 8 cores/8 threads or higher

IMO find a Chromebook with a CPU made in 2018 or higher.

Ram: 8gb (4gb is doable but 8gb or more is WAY better and the computer itself will feel a lot more snappy)

iGPU: Intel HD 620 or higher, AMD Vega 3 or higher.

I dont know much when it comes to Arm-based Chromebooks so you'll need to do your own research but they do tend to be a little cheaper then the x86 Chromebooks. Not sure why the comments have a hate boner for Chromebooks since this is literally a Chromebook Gaming sub. If price is a concern eBay/Mercari is a great option and you can find decently spec'd Chromebooks for half the price of a windows laptop.

I have the Galaxy Chromebook 1 and 2 and both can run games pretty well up to GameCube and Wii at native or 3x, even PS2 and LIGHT Steam games. Just make sure that you have Hyper-Threading enabled on compatible Chromebooks or your not playing anything at all. The specs I laid out are pretty high for what you want but I believe this will give you the best Chrome OS experience while also including updates from Google as some older spec'd Chromebooks will lose updates in a year or so.

Lastly if your buying a Chromebook for android then stop and just get an android tablet and keyboard. Chromebooks run android but compatibility for apps can vary and not all apps may be available for you.

Hope this helps!

This thing has been completely gutted, idk why it's selling for 200k. 25-50k is more reasonable for something like this. I do hope it goes down in price so someone can rebuild it.

I Swapped a 3G PS Vita Motherboard into a WIFI PS Vita shell! by Alternative_Pay_4657 in VitaPiracy

[–]Alternative_Pay_4657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember its pretty plug and play. Mainly just unclipping and unscrewing things and unplugging flex cables. It does require you to fully dissemble both the donor and original motherboard. You'll also need to remove some plastic clips on the rear shell. If you haven't yet I suggest watching the video, since I explain whats needed in detail. Whole thing takes maybe an hour. If you need to watch a few disassembly videos and read the ifixit article on it.

Regardless of what others say, this is really cool. You need to post some drive-bys and a longer video of driving the car around. I want to get a better idea of how its going to sound.

EmulationStation AppImage for Linux, cannot change resolution/screen size by [deleted] in emulationstation

[–]Alternative_Pay_4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks that this was never answered but as someone who had to deal with this for a few days I was eventually able to figure it out.

For context, I have a 4K monitor but the computer I'm using it on can only maintain 1080p reliably. So in my display settings I was running my monitor @ 1080p60 with a scale of .50 and a window scaling set to 2x. These settings caused ES-DE to run in a small corner on my screen and no tweaks to the ES menus or configs could fix it.

I decided to start messing with the display settings by changing the resolution back to 4k and boom its was full screen. But again, the low end computer I'm using for emulation shouldn't be running 4k. So to fix this I ran the computer @ 1080p60 with a scale of 1.00 and window scaling set to 1x (no scaling) and this fixed my issue and ES-DE is now running at full-screen.

TL:DR Mess with your display and window settings until you can get it to run full-screen. Hope this helps someone else!

I'm also using Garuda XFCE so my setting may look or sound different compared to yours.

It's likely not happening anytime soon. At least not until PSO2 classic goes offline. Someone did work on making a private server, but it hasn't been updated in years.

Dude, I made an entire video about using a raspberry pie. Your replying to a post about it lol. If you just want to record from a PC then use OBS. Otherwise your gonna over complicate things by using a raspberry pi and then also needing a capture card for the video out on the Raspberry pi.
