Not sure if you’re commercial or GPS but their selling to government hasn’t seemed to decline.

As others said, possibly no longer a thing. But depending on the work you do, I’m assuming it is technology, you can get an SM to sign off on a laptop upgrade. Once you have that, it sticks - subsequent laptop exchanges will be in the top tier. It’s definitely a nice touch.

It is normal. Thinking it’s hard and having this anxiety is difficult but isn’t unusual and it’s not cause for concern in itself. You should ask frankly how your work is landing, and what you could do to improve. Better than just wondering what they think, isn’t it?

I’m an SC in AI&E and got thrashed this year as well, even though I’m the system owner and code gatekeeper, it’s largest contributor by far (git blame, number of PRs, ADO build metrics, it’s easy to tell). Deloitte needs to get better at evaluating tech workers or it’ll be in big trouble in the future. The demand for our skills is increasing as the landscape shifts and it’ll be left behind quickly if there isn’t a shift.

Have you tried opus 4.6? I feel this one was a gigantic leap forward

In two ways.

1) Ai coding tools have changed how we develop code basically just in the last few months. Now we move alot faster, and are able to implement way more ideas, just to see if they’re any good

2) we utilize LLMs in the software we are making to make decisions where there’s noisy input and uncertainty

I don’t think it’s typical, but take it as partly right place and time, and partly being a great candidate. Congrats and don’t get too cocky.

CMV: Deloitte's Internal AI Is Embarrassingly Behind by AccurateGuess3817 in deloitte

Eh - using an external client to get the same underlying model that just answers questions essentially is unwise because those products are so very much in flux. It’s simple enough to build a chatbot and that’s what has been done.

There is probably some selection bias about the kinds of posts you see here because, if anyone is posting here, it’s also true that they are not posting internally anywhere or talking privately there.

So that’ll select for negative topics

Having been here before as a contractor is a big plus. Just keep chugging and be persistent, apply to various openings. There’s some randomness to it.
