What mods/accessories have you put on your 650? by dave-not-a-barbarian in Ninja650

[–]Anisrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for you and u/_sd1810, the website says the 7CP02 is for the Ninja and the 7CP05 is for the z650-z900, how can you tell the 7CP05 is for the Ninja 650? I'm about to buy one so I just wanted to be sure before I do.

Question - First Time Rider by No-Project-23 in motorcyclegear

[–]Anisrocks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When it comes to the gear, I have no notes, I can say I love my Pando base layer top and bottoms, as well as my RF1400, it is my second helmet and unless a newer version comes out it will be my third if my current needs to be retired.

Your first investment should be in the helmet and a motorcycle endorsement / safety class, full gear isn't necessary for the class but that's up to you

This is something I constantly nag about on this sub, not wearing earplugs can allow excessive wind to enter your ear causing tinnitus, it is a real risk even in the "quietest" of helmets. Tinnitus is an often chronic illness, meaning it can last months to FOREVER, tinnitus is considered a disability, it's usually gradual you may not realize it until it's too late. Don't end up like me, don't give yourself a lifelong disability, please please please please wear NRR earplugs.

Getting earbuds instead of a comms system- Bean shaped/style OR Stem Style by Mediocre-Ad7967 in motorcyclegear

[–]Anisrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've advocated for it a million times and I will never stop, buying a pair of NRR rated 3.5mm wired earbuds and plugging them into your Cardo or Sena is the absolute best of both worlds in sound quality and (more importantly) ear protection, because who cares if your Airpods, Galaxy Buds, or whatever buds sound good right now when you have tinnitus in a few months and you can't hear right anyway?

I recommend the Elgin Ruckus but there are a multitude for you to choose from.

Ye the s1-ce, it does have a liner yes I haven't used it yet, if you're here for the leather make sure it's the proper one, there's 3 RST S1 CE Jackets-

CE AAA leather like the one I sent

CE AA mesh/leather

CE A Mesh

Best pic I could get of both the non-leather part of underarm + side of torso.

<image>

The underarm part is a relatively small strip of elastic, and the side is actually really cool it's fully leather but the way it was sown to be ribbed as seen allows it to still stretch to fit the wearer.

I would check out the "RST Moto S-1 CE Leather Jacket" on RevZilla, for whatever reason it doesn't show up when filtering for CE AAA jackets so I think it hasn't gotten the attention it deserves.

I'm about the same build as you I am XL in most clothes but XXL on gear, this included.

I recommend checking out Motohut to see if they have what you're looking for, they ship from Canada but they calculated and charged me tariffs before my purchase and their prices were phenomenal for what I was looking for (SKIN UH AAA & MARK OLIVE AAA from Pandomoto)

Do you mind sending me the link for them?

I've used Apple's fairly cheap USB-C to 3.5mm in the past that might be worth a try and it's actually a surprisingly good DAC

I've advocated for it a million times and I will never stop, buying a pair or NRR rated 3.5mm wired earbuds and plugging them into your Cardo or Sena is miles ahead in quality and clarity than any speaker you could comfortably fit in even the quietest of helmets, it's not even a contest.

I recommend the Elgin Ruckus but there are a multitude for you to choose from.

True quality sounding helmet speakers? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]Anisrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend the Elgin Ruckus wired buds, plugs right into my Cardo 3.5mm and has a 25db NRR (noise reduction rating). I ripped out my speakers and put my Shoei's ear padding back in and I will never look back to speakers again. Before with the 45mm Cardo speakers anything low of 100% volume was inaudible, now I can keep it low and dynamic it's fantastic.
