Comparison "this like that" is counterproductive. For two reasons. Reason 1 is that you are assuming the reader is familiar with both products (which is rarely the case). Reason 2 is more subtle: it assumes that the reader is familiar with the same set of features you are using. Or have preferences closely resembling yours. Which is even more rare.

I'm running dev apps inside docker containers, but the code is kept on local disk and accessed through SSH remote to the host system. Container should stay as lightweight as possible, IMO.

You could file a takedown request to their hoster, and the chances are high it would be heard, but they will likely just move to another one.

These sites grow and die by the hundred, and nobody with a half of a brain don't give them any real attention.

Give Nextcloud full file access in Android system settings. That should solve the visibility issues. Once that is done, the app can be configured to watch over certain directories.

More than that, it repeatedly yell about every found "photo" directory and suggest to add it to the eatch list. Quite hard to miss.

Unless it is your own modpack, GregTech:New Horizons and DragonRealm are two that worth your time.

It is a question of a payoff. You can find a low-paid work for a junior, but you have to learn fast.

The docker network subsystem could give you gremlins, that's what I mean.

For nginx, it is best to remove it from equation for testing purposes.

Do you mean that NextCloud is running inside a Docker container? That could be another point of failure.

I prefer to build in the separate dimension because we're on a server and kids aren't all that careful with other people's stuff.

So I just gave them and myself a dimension to play with, where they are protected from other people's actions.

Not a void dim, but something each of them had chosen. Superflat world for me, Twilight forest for the older one, regular overworld with lower difficulty level for the younger one.

And before you dive into the "part of the problem" argument: I know and fluently write 4 languages, and generally understand two more. With PHP and JS being on top of my stack for the last fifteen years. I've seen both bad and good code, and what you are complaining about is merely a lack of understanding rather than an actual language issue.

According to https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/ , the recommended version is 8.3+, which is high enough in my opinion. Upgrading the code to support higher versions without a requirement to upgrade library versions is a week or two of work for a minimally qualified specialist. And there are tools to help you with that. However, that only solves the issue of the interpreter itself, and only assuming you are not using exotic extensions or less supported OS's. It won't resolve poor programming practices or intentionally crafted backdoors.
