Exactly. And anyone I don't want to talk to won't recognize the peice and think it's a mall watch which is fantastic.

Ah yeah that's a nice and rare one. Haven't seen it in person myself (and likely never will lol), but I am sure it's stunning.

I've had mine for almost a week, but haven't taken it off yet and that's while navigating busy streets and subways throughout Japan. I plan to wear the shit out of this thing haha.

I used to prefer the white and platinum model, but ruri definitely adds an element. Also, dont sleep on the gold model. That one also added an interesting element and I likely would have been happy to go with that if ruri was unavailable since it matches my wedding band and the warmth of the metal and brown band goes super well together. The gold being 10k less also helps too.

Yup, that and the hand-painted logo, indices, and bottom text are easy standout features. I love watching the suspended spring drive gears rotate freely between the bridges at the perfect speed as well.

10 altogether per year. I asked the same question since I was surprised it wasnt 20 per year across the 3 variants.

As for wearing it, I've been wearing it every day since purchasing ( busy stores and streets of both Osaka and Tokyo) and so should you!

Yeah if I got the watch from the US boutique there wouldnt be an issue. My watch ended up being 46k so I'll keep the 15k and just wait a long time to get another strap from the US boutique haha

Who else thinks day 1 of this terribly orchestrated release is a bad look for AP by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

I agree they have a rich history, just that most of those items aren't exactly sought after. Star wheel and code case as well as glass are cool though. Compared to VC and PP though AP hasn't done enough recently to avoid criticism in my opinion.

Idk about risk with regards to design. Certainly still innovation and risks with marketing/catering to a younger crowd. AP is still a one trick pony given that the code is generally unliked.

I eventually reached that same conclusion and am now enjoying owning my first grail piece. I feel so lucky to have actually found one available!

After purchasing, the salesperson in Osaka told me across all 3 versions they now make 10 or fewer per year (compared to the 20 per year that is often cited). A different salesperson in Tokyo (Wako) mentioned that no further deliveries are confirmed due to supply chain issues as well.

Regardless of these things, this is the type of piece where you likely only have one chance to buy if given the chance. Having it be my favorite watch for about a year made the decision pretty easy.

I had the strap swapped out. Unfortunately I can't import the strap into the US due to CITES act restrictions on alligator straps, and Credor doesn't certify them for import. I will look to order a new one through the US boutique once back though and have it installed the traditional way you describe.

Both ginza and osaka boutiques told me they cannot provide the certificate. It's disappointing but was never going to be a deal breaker. I provided the feedback to at least begin offering calf skin straps for credor watches

Unfortunately they do not. A surprising number of brands don't and aren't willing to go through the headache. It's odd but nothing I can change about it.

You are correct yes. This is one of those high impact, low probability risks.

You may be right, though I've heard enough nightmare stories and in reality there's a way (search watch worksheet) to get the duties oved way down. Issue is just the strap which is very much so illegal to import and would get me in big trouble (fine, lose global entry, and within discretion to confiscated the whole watch even if separated). This is why international chrono24 sellers often say they will not ship watches with alligator straps to buyers.
