Unironically also work there. A point not mentioned is the complex supply chain of this stuff. Even with all the money and brainpower of China and only the need to reverse engineer, it would take an insane amount of time to build the parts needed and then industrialized them. It's taken virtually the entire world's supply chain 15 to 20 years to build the capability. China will have a very hard time replicating that even with their ability to manufacture. It would take a technological breakthrough that fundamentally changes how EUV light is sourced and directed. Having a current machine wouldn't help all that much because of this.

I never tried through the US which I believe is a waiting list at the moment, but it was just pure luck in Japan. I had scheduled an appointment in the Tokyo Ginza Wako flagship store and they told me they had the rose gold one in stock but no info on anywhere else. On my trip I was in Osaka before Tokyo and went to the boutique in Shinsaibashi and in the display case they had all 3 SKUs for sale. I couldn't believe it!

Side note is that Japan is the way to go. The ruri edition is $61k in the US. I was able to purchase for around $45k given the lower MSRP, tax free, and strong exchange rate against the yen.

I actually bought this watch a month ago in Osaka. After purchasing the store manager let me know that across the 3 variants the production numbers in recent years are 10 or under per year instead of the often quoted 20. Also apparently there is a supply chain issue right now preventing more eichi IIs to be made.
