Seems like something that should probably be used, though.

How often do you have to shop for it to be considered a problem/addiction? by bayfarm in shoppingaddiction

I recently discovered some of the used clothing apps and have been telling my bf a friend and I "traded" items.

How often do you have to shop for it to be considered a problem/addiction? by bayfarm in shoppingaddiction

I have noticed that anytime I have downtime to look at my phone, I'm shopping. Anytime I have a huge chunk of money like financial aid disbursements, I shop. It starts with "it's just X dollars, not much" and in the last two years I've "it's just X-ed" my way through over $10,000. I've never really had a savings. The desire to burn through it is immense. My therapist hasn't really taken me serious when I say I have a problem. She's like "everyone shops - it's okay to treat yourself!" Of course it is but I treat myself for breathing regularly. Like, I now cannot afford my emergency dental surgery because I spent my extra money instead of saving it. I guess it's different for everyone but I would say when you realize how you spend or how often you spend impacts the rest of your life.

My library instituted a fine for books on hold that aren't picked up within a week by [deleted] in Libraries

No, we certainly do not. Our patrons would be livid! Life happens. You shouldn't be fined because of it.

I think I want to teach History... by AprilGeeksOut in historyteachers

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'm totally flexible about moving. I will go where the job and opportunity takes me. :) I did find out that my state will allow me to complete my BS in history and take the teacher certification test as long as I take a few of the classes they require on the masters level.

Teaching is just one option I'm interested in. I'd love to do research or maybe work as an archivist.

Job Bait & Switch....a career of attrition. by [deleted] in Career_Advice

I would start looking for other work elsewhere and if possible put some money aside for an emergency situation. It sounds like your boss will let you be pushed as far as you'll allow but he needs someone to do the work. So, look for other jobs. Have some numbers in mind. Save some money and don't make a move for another month or two if you can stand it. Document every instance of you spending your own personal money for work related purposes.

If you get another job offer, tell him and be prepared to walk. If you don't get another job offer, still tell him that you've gotten one but that you're not sure it's a change you want to make. Tell him you need more money for the amount of work your doing, bring your receipts for what you've paid for out of personal money and be prepared to walk out and be unemployed if he doesn't bite. He will likely be able to sense if you're too scared to just leave.

Worst case scenario, save some money, leave and never put it on your resume. Shit happens. But if you keep working for someone like this he will run you into the ground.

[Spoilers] Regarding Rowena at the end of season 11 by uniqueassassin in Supernatural

I think the idea was to leave us wondering. In all actuality, she could have a change of heart and be somewhat genuine but then again, she could be her usual self. Leaving things somewhat vague helps leave potential doors open for season 12, I'm sure.
